Our Mission
The mission of Horizon Specialty Hospitals Dietetic Internship is to prepare competent and professional, entry-level Registered Dietitian Nutritionists who are committed to providing care in the field of dietetics.
Goals and Objectives
Program Goal #1: Program graduates will contribute to the pool competent entry-level RDNs.
Objectives for Goal #1:

At least 80% of interns complete program requirements within 10 months (150% of planned program length).

Of graduates who seek employment, at least 80% are employed in nutrition and dietetics or related fields within 12 months of graduation.

At least 80 percent of program graduates take the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists within 12 months of program completion.

The program’s one-year pass rate (graduates who pass the registration exam within one year of first attempt) on the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists is at least 80%.
Program Goal #2: Program graduates will demonstrate professionalism and the ability to perform as an entry-level RDN.
Objectives for Goal #2:

When surveyed 12 months after graduation, 80% of employers who respond to a survey will rate graduates as “meets expectations” or “exceeds expectations” in professionalism, knowledge and skills as expected in entry-level RDNs.

When surveyed 12 months after graduation, at least 80% of interns will rate themselves “satisfied” and/or “highly satisfied” with their ability to perform as an entry-level dietitian.
